What are the consequences after hysterectomy?


1. Premature climacteric occurs.
Statistics show that after hysterectomy, women’s endocrine level would reduce due to impact of blood supply to ovary and then premature climacteric would occur 3 to 5 years in advance.

2. Sexual desire decreased.
In 70% of women all sorts of sexual discomfort are found after hysterectomy, such as lack of sexual desire, decreased numbers of sex intercourse and difficulty to get orgasm etc.

3. Increased risk for cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis.
The incidence of heart attacks in women who received hysterectomy is three times higher than that in normal females. While the incidence in those received ovarian resection at the same is seven times higher than that in normal females. Risk for osteoporosis will also increase after hysterectomy.

4. Changes in figure.
When performing hysterectomy, four fixing ligaments of the uterus will be cut off, which can cause abnormal movement of the skeletons and organs in pelvic cavity as well as the spinal compression and then make patient seem short and fat.

5. Urinary and fecal incontinence, chronic constipation.
After hysterectomy, weakened supporting function of the pelvis and sensation loss of pelvic nerves may cause urinary and fecal incontinence as well we chronic constipation. Eight to ten years later, it may also cause the displacement of organs, such as gastroptosis.

6. Unalleviated pain.
After hysterectomy, a kind of intense pain may be induced from neural path, which spreads from the waist, hip and knees to the legs when sit or go for a walk. In some patients periodic shock hurts around vagina may be found.

7. Psychological changes.
Some women have obvious personality change after hysterectomy. They always feel that they are not complete and become depressed and inferior, what's worse, suicidal thoughts may conceive.
